First I'd like to say thanks to all that were involved in this years IT show at Chuck and Eddies in Southington CT.  It was a great time for everyone involved. We were involved in a lot of the Internet things being shown. Frooition presented and mentioned us a few times in the presentation. Hotlines released their E-Commerce platform at the show that we had a hand in developing with them (its currently being used on this site) and Dora Fang, Sr Manager of eBay motors parts and accessories used us for a case study during her presentation with Hollander.

The growth of auto insurance companies is directly linked to growth of the auto industry in India. The booming car industry from the last decade resulted in increased volume of car insurance business. Hence many private insurance companies also have entered the fray and are offering services. According to Indian law, vehicles have to be compulsorily insured before they venture on to the road. A auto insurance term is one year after which it has to be renewed for another year.

Buying a insurance policy becomes the first priority after buying a new vehicle. Hence many new car buyers often seek assistance from car dealers to buy a policy for them. A new car buyer has to be careful to choose the best car policies in the industry which offers maximum coverage against maximum number of risks. Car dealers help new car buyers pay all the necessary taxes and fulfill all necessary paper work associates with taxes and insurance. However, some car dealers also recommend insurance policies with lower premium amounts- beware of them as they could cover lesser number of risks, leaving the car owner with a huge list of expenses.

Types of Insurance

A car insurance policy covers damages on the specified car and also liability arising out of an accident. A third party liability coverage is mandatory for all policy holders. Vehicles should also be covered while transporting them through rail, road, water and air.

 

So I want to talk about the Apple iPhone today and to see what you think about it and to give you my own personal thoughts on the phone. I personally couldn’t live without it. Also I want to know what you think about it and the phones you personally like and why.

 

Fiat is gunning for General Motors after almost taking over Chrysler. Fiat is ready to take on the Opel brand of cars currently owned by GM, which will enhance the Italian company’s profile as a world leader. It could also take over GM’s traditional rivals the Japanese and Korean car manufacturers.

Till the year 2003, Fiat was incurring loses continuously, but in a major turnaround after that it was posting profits every year. In a surprise move, the Italian car manufacturer made a bid to take over Opel and other GM brands. By adding GM and Chrysler to its profile Fiat comes very near the largest car manufacturer in the world Toyota.

However, the road to glory is filled with a lot of obstruction. Fiat needs to get the approval of German government which is assisting protecting the brand. Opel went into rapid descent after its parent company General Motors went down facing a recession.

The insurance industry has tested smaller cars in head on crashes with bigger cars to test how "extreme" crashes effect drivers in the smaller cars. The cars tested were the Smart Fortwo, Toyota Yaris, and Honda Fit. The cars were pitted against bigger cars in the series to see how they faired in an "extreme" crash. Well as we can all assume the high speed head on crashes were not good for the smaller cars.

The first of the three is the Smart fortwo, against the Mercedes c-class. The institute said the Smart, which weighs 1,808 lbs, went airborne and turned around 450 degrees after striking the C-Class, extensive damage to the fortwo driver would sustain severe head and leg injuries. And as you guessed it the c-class had minor damage to the driver compartment.

The second was the Honda fit pitted against the 2009 accord. The fit sustained heavy damage, where the accord sustained minor driver compartment damage. The drivers head on the fit struck the steering wheel through the air bag and severe leg injuries were also sustained. Of course again this was a failed test.

A new study states that people prefer angry faced cars. The study used a rating called a  "power scale." The BMW 5 series rated high on the power scale where the cute and cuddly Toyota Prius rated low on the power scale. It seems that a study of 20 men and 20 woman rating 38 passenger car models see faces in the cars that were studied as do I, I have seen plenty of cars that have a distinguished face in the front end, and i'm sure most of you have too! The study was done on passenger cars only and not SUV's due to a "hulking look" and would have skewed the results which I could understand. Some people see animal faces and also human type faces in the cars. The study may also be done in Ethiopia because of the lower car population there. You be the judge on the two pics I will provide here please tell me what you see from this BMW 5 series and the Toyota Prius!

The Prius has already tripled Honda's target, the Prius has sold 21,000 models in Japan so far. To me thats a HUGE deficit in sales and that kills the insight in sales. My personal opinion on the two hybrids is that I would personally go with the Toyota prius due to better looks and a more comfy interior the new Prius has an even better look to it, and a bit more sporty for a hybrid sedan. But due to personal rides I have taken in a friends Prius its kinda of biased because I have not ridden in an Insight. But the prius ride is very smooth and its just like any other Toyota, a good well rounded solid vehicle, like most other foreign vehicles.

The new Prius model will have a bigger engine (1.8L) for a bit more pep and excitement in your hybrid. Problem is with the economy where it is and gas price where they are its hard for people to buy a new vehicle this day in age and to take on another bill/payment for something. New car sales have dropped and the same with used car sales. A lot of people have been fixing there cars that break and haven't been able to afford to buy new/used cars. But on the other hand buying a hybrid is a very good investment and the gas savings alone will make it pay for itself very quickly!

James Eitvydas opened the doors here in 1985 and broke new ground specializing in foreign auto parts. Jimmy saw a niche and an opportunity that needed to be taken advantage of.In the mid 90's came the internet, another opportunity that had to be sought after. Jimmy registered the domain toms4n.com along with some others and became one of the firts salvage yards in the country to have a website.
